150 Proximus internships per year. Why do we think this is so important?

In the scope of our #inspire2022 strategy, we want to attract the best talents to help shape Europe's digital future. Interns are part of this strategy. After all they are our colleagues and customers of tomorrow!

Does it scare you a little to trade your school campus for the workplace? All the new experiences you'll acquire here will make it well worth stepping outside your comfort zone. You will have the opportunity to put into practice the theory you have learned and further improve your skills.

My internship at Proximus was one of the best decisions I made during my studies. I got a preview of the way I can put classroom theory into practice. I strongly recommend this experience to every student who is still looking for an internship (and a workplace with a beautiful view over Brussels).

What's in it for you? For us? For everyone?

Interns are really appreciated here at Proximus. Your new team will welcome you with open arms because you will be helping them to realize both small and large projects.

As an HR Communication intern at Proximus, I learned from day one. I was warmly welcomed by the whole HR group and they immediately made me feel part of the team. For example, they spent a whole week introducing me to all colleagues and I was even allowed to attend some important meetings. I feel very appreciated and notice that my contributions as an intern also have a real added value for Proximus.

Not only can you help us think outside the box, but you also bring a breath of fresh air and a more dynamic vibe to the workplace. Just as interns are a boost to the team, the same is true the other way around. You will undoubtedly learn a lot from your more experienced colleagues.

Interns still have that sparkling outlook on things. They are eager to learn and look forward to discovering or accomplishing a lot. It is another reminder for us of how exciting our job is supposed to be.

What is the role of your internship coach?

An internship mentor is there to coach you and make sure you really learn something. But exchanging experiences is also important. That means, listening to how you look at things.

My mentor means a lot to me. Thanks to him, I learn a lot every day and I can ask for help at any time of the day if something doesn't work out! The support I get from him motivates me to give my best day in, day out.
Your coach will give you regular feedback to grow and evolve even more.

You are not only a manager, but also a coach. My role is to give interns the necessary context and explanation when assigning certain tasks. In this way, they become aware that they are part of a bigger picture and they start to see their place in the whole. And so they also learn to better understand the way a company operates.

How do you apply?

Think you've found the perfect internship? Then you're all set to apply! But how do you go about this concretely? Our procedure is simple and does not require much of your time. You only have to follow 3 steps:

  • Step 1:

Select the desired internship. Click on the ‘Apply now’ button and provide your first name, name and e-mail address.
You can also choose to sign up with your LinkedIn account.

  • Step 2:

Upload your CV and fill in your contact details. Optionally, you can also add your application letter here. Submit your application and that's all there is to it.

  • Step 3:

If your profile meets our criteria, you will be invited to an online interview. Turn on your webcam & microphone, now you're ready to answer a number of preformatted questions (French, Dutch or English). Don't worry, we will give you enough time for this.

Tip:
prepare well for the interview. Explain clearly who you are, what your studies entail, what you can bring to our organization and what choices you want to make. Above all else, don't forget to smile and be yourself!

Hired! What now?

Do you get nightmares from filling out forms and administration? Don't panic, our HR colleagues have everything perfectly under control. Once you are hired, an HR colleague will contact you and send you your internship agreement. All you have to do is sign. Talk about child's play! You can also contact them yourself about any question you might have. We want your internship to be a fantastic experience from the start.

There, now you can really count down to the start! Who knows, after graduation you might become our new colleague?

My intern is very self-reliant and easy to coach. I feel very lucky in that sense. And I have to admit that I am absolutely looking forward to her graduating, so that she can apply for a job with us! We do not want to miss out on this excellent profile!
