With regrets, the Board of Directors of Proximus has taken note of the decision of Mrs. Dominique Leroy to leave Proximus because she has been offered a new opportunity abroad, despite the Board’s unanimous willingness to reconduct her mandate as CEO of the company. The mandate of Mrs. Leroy will end on December 1st, 2019.

The Board explicitly wants to thank Dominique Leroy for her leadership and efforts in very challenging market conditions during her mandate of almost six years. Thanks to her “Fit for Growth” strategy, Mrs. Leroy was able to ensure that Proximus could again show positive results for the last four years, both in top- and bottom line. Since begin 2019, the new strategy “Shift to digital” is driving the transformation of the company from a connectivity player to a digital services provider. Mrs. Leroy also launched a 3 billion euro fiber roll-out plan and recently negotiated a mobile access network sharing agreement to accelerate the deployment of 5G.

In the coming months, Dominique Leroy will continue to ensure the daily management of the company and all major files. She will ensure the preparation of the 2020-plan and focus on finalising the transformation plan that was announced in the beginning of the year. The Board has full confidence in the strong team that she built and that is able to ensure the continuity of the company.

The Board wishes Dominique all success in her further career and will start immediately the procedure for selecting a new CEO.
