Statement of Proximus and Orange Belgium regarding Telenet’s complaint before the Belgian competition authority

Proximus and Orange Belgium currently pursue their discussions to finalise the mobile network sharing agreement announced on 11 July 2019. A few weeks ago, Telenet decided to stop discussions on a possible accession to the mobile network sharing agreement.

Further to this, Telenet lodged a complaint before the Belgian Competition Authority against Proximus and Orange Belgium and requested the Belgian Competition Authority to adopt interim measures to suspend the implementation of the mobile network sharing agreement awaiting the decision on the merits. Proximus and Orange Belgium will fully cooperate to this procedure.

The Belgian Competition Authority is expected to decide on the request for interim measures by the end of the year or in the first weeks of next year.

Proximus and Orange Belgium remain fully confident that their contemplated mobile network sharing agreement will bring positive effects to the Belgian mobile communications market.
