30 years of the Proximus Art Collection
Anniversary exhibition "Conversation Poem" opens in May at the Hôtel des Douanes at Tour & Taxis
The Proximus Art Collection is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a landmark exhibition at the iconic Hôtel des Douanes on the Tour & Taxis site in Brussels. From 14 May to 24 July 2026, Proximus Art will present around 120 works from its collection in an exhibition entirely dedicated to dialog.

Art that sparks dialog
For three decades, Proximus has been building a contemporary art collection that now comprises more than 400 works by Belgian and international artists. What began as a commitment to integrating art into the workplace has evolved into a collection that also fosters social reflection and human connection.
With "Conversation Poem", Proximus seeks to bring that role to the forefront. The exhibition brings together contemporary art around a central question: how can we have real conversations again in an age of constant communication? In a world where information is abundant but meaningful exchange is often lacking, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on universal values such as humanity, inclusivity, listening, reciprocity and connection.
The exhibition was initiated by Stefaan De Clerck, Chairman of the Proximus Art Collection. He invited guest curators Catherine de Zegher and Isabelle De Jaegere to collaborate on the project. Together, they selected around 120 key works to guide visitors through a journey in which artworks enter into dialog with one another and with the visitor.
Among the highlights are works by Alighiero Boetti and Giulio Paolini. The exhibition also includes masterpieces by artists such as Günther Förg, Rosemary Laing, Lee Friedlander, Lili Dujourie, David Claerbout and others.
A symbolic location: Tour & Taxis
The choice of the Hôtel des Douanes at Tour & Taxis is no coincidence. In the years ahead, the historic site will become the new home of Proximus and, with it, of the collection.
For 30 years, Proximus has believed in the power of art to offer perspective and connect people. With this anniversary exhibition, we want to show that dialog is not an abstract concept, but a daily necessity. The fact that we are doing this at Tour & Taxis, the future home of Proximus, makes it especially meaningful: here, we are not only building new workspaces, but also an environment where connection is central.
