Heritage Days in Brussels: Discover the Proximus Art Collection

On the 14 and 15 of September 2019 the Brussels Capital Region is throwing the doors to its heritage wide open and free of charge. This year the theme of the Brussels Heritage Days is "A place for art", a theme that puts our own art collection in the Proximus Towers on the agenda.

The Proximus Art Collection

Brussels is full of places where art is created or exhibited. This also applies to the collection of contemporary works of art that we have built up since 1996.

The unique collection of more than 500 works ties in perfectly with our company’s values and soul. Although often surprising and confrontational, it is always creative and innovative.

Featuring works from around 100 artists, from Alechinsky to Zobernig, the collection gives a representative picture of four decades of contemporary art, and includes many masterpieces, mainly from the field of photography.

Through their diverse creations, both established artists and upcoming talent stimulate our thinking and encourage discussion and reflection.

Art works!

Far from having a museum vocation, Proximus Art Collection’s mission is to integrate contemporary art, in its many forms of expression, into the work environment. In this way, it allows Proximus employees to spend their working day surrounded by artworks and thus become acquainted with contemporary art.

At the same time, the team in charge of the collection makes every effort to encourage the understanding and interpretation of works which are not always easily accessible or obvious.

For this weekend, we want to share this understanding with the public so that you too can get inspired!

Guided tours in the Towers

Would you like to become acquainted with Panamarenko, Rineke Dijkstra, Andreas Gursky and dozens of other artists? Then come to the Proximus towers on 14 or 15 September. There will be continuous guided tours in French and Dutch (for groups of 20 people) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (last entry at 5 p.m.).

Open your eyes, experience what you see and, like us, let yourself be inspired by art...
