Proximus proclaimed Telecom & Connectivity Company of the Year by Data News
A professional jury of industry experts praised Proximus for ensuring the stability and resilience of its network in a period of massive homeworking.
The Data News Awards for Excellence 2020 are rewarding companies, products and individuals from 15 different categories within the ICT sector, based on a selection process that involves the editorial staff and readers of Data News as well as a professional jury composed of leading voices in the telecom, ICT & tech industry. During a virtual award ceremony on September 24, Proximus was proclaimed the winner in the category "Telecom & Connectivity Company of the Year", leaving behind Mobile Vikings, NTT, Orange Belgium and Telenet.
The jury stressed the importance of connectivity, representing "the vains of our digital economy", especially in a situation where Covid-19 dramatically changed our way of working. In this context, successfully managing to deliver telecom connectivity and services is considered critical for both businesses and their employees. Furthermore, Proximus stood out in terms of network coverage and was praised for its strong presence in the general business market.
Proximus was represented by Anne-Sophie Lotgering, who leads the company’s Enterprise Business Unit, to receive the award. Together with her team, she focuses on becoming the trusted partner and leader in telecommunication and ICT for enterprise customers, by supporting their digital transformation and, more recently, by specifically enabling their business resilience in COVID times.
I am very happy to receive this award on behalf of a very dedicated team, not only in our business unit but all across the company. I want to express the gratitude of the management team to the people in the shops, call centers and on the road who have daily interaction with our customers, but also to those who ensure the stability and excellence of our networks day after day and those who contribute to a smooth organization of our daily operations. It is thanks to all these people that we receive this recognition. This award also showcases that Proximus is recognized for executing on its vision to become the reference operator in Europe, thanks to excellent networks, a strong focus on operational efficiency, an open attitude towards partnerships and a close attention to sustainability and digital inclusion in everything we do.
