Proximus stands alongside the BOZAR and renews its support
Proximus extends its partnership with BOZAR for another three years. Through this crucial support in a difficult period for BOZAR, Proximus underlines the societal importance of culture in uniting people and fostering well-being and social inclusion.
BOZAR, the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels, is facing one of the most challenging periods throughout its history. While the health crisis has caused the entire cultural sector to suffer, a recent fire on the roof of the BOZAR building meant another setback for this emblematic cultural institution.
As a long-standing partner to several Belgian cultural institutions, Proximus provides structural support to the local cultural ecosystem, with the aim to take on societal responsibility in the broadest way possible and make the Belgian digital society accessible to all.
Therefore, whereas providing continued support in these difficult times is the logical thing to do, Proximus also intends to explore new opportunities to collaborate with BOZAR, notably by making its artistic content accessible to a larger audience via Proximus’ platforms and channels.
We strongly believe in the important role that culture plays in our society, as a catalyst of social inclusion, well-being and mental health of its citizens and are therefore happy to continue to support BOZAR. This partnership will allow us to bring cultural content on Pickx and offer unique experiences to our customers, while supporting the Belgian cultural scene through difficult times.
Christine PerpetteCFO of BOZAR
We are enormously grateful for this ongoing cooperation which is even more important for us in this extremely difficult period. The pandemic is something we have been facing all together and the cultural sector remains one of the most affected. On top, the recent fire outbreak in our building put us in front of yet another challenge. I am confident that we will recover and will be able to continue the artistic mission that we all hold so dear. But we need meaningful partners like Proximus to do so.
