Proximus launches a new interactive tool to strengthen digital security for everyone

In an increasingly connected world, digital security has become a major challenge. Today, Proximus is launching an interactive information tool to help everyone better understand and respond to online threats. This initiative is accessible to all, whether they are customers or not, and aims to raise public awareness of crucial issues such as cyberbullying, phishing and children’s online safety.

Proximus works every day to safeguard digital freedom by paying close attention to its customers' digital habits and concerns. The digital world offers endless opportunities: it brings people together, drives innovation and enriches our lives. But to make the most of it, trust is essential.

A visible and invisible commitment to a safer Internet

Proximus actively contributes to the annual awareness campaigns led by the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB), such as those focused on phishing and two-factor authentication (2FA). As a co-founder of the Cyber Security Coalition, the company supports these initiatives. But its commitment goes even further: behind the scenes, Proximus works to strengthen digital security.

But beyond raising awareness, Proximus deploys large-scale protection mechanisms: nearly 400 million fraudulent e-mails and more than 2 million scam SMS messages are blocked every month in 2025. In addition, 1.5 million suspicious international calls are intercepted before they even reach the network.

These discreet yet essential actions reflect Proximus' commitment to actively protecting citizens, businesses and institutions against digital threats, while at the same time giving them the means to better understand and anticipate risks.

Proximus goes even further: the company wants to empower citizens to take action themselves when faced with digital risks.

A simple interactive tool accessible to all

Starting on 29 September, the tool will be offered free of charge and will allow everyone, whether they are a customer or not, to react quickly in case of doubt: a suspicious message, a questionable link or concerns about children's online safety. It provides clear, practical support available at any time.

To ensure comprehensive and reliable information, the tool, available in French and Dutch, gathers content from dozens of trusted sources such as the Center for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) and Child Focus, bringing together best practices and advice on digital safety in one place. Supported by AI, it provides tailored answers to users’ questions. It will be updated regularly to reflect the latest recommendations and emerging threats. The tool will be prominently featured on the new website:

Smarter & safer online with Proximus

To maximize the public reach of the initiative, Proximus is rolling out an awareness campaign starting today in several train stations and across media outlets. The campaign aims to reinforce digital safety reflexes - against cyberbullying, phishing and risks for children - and to encourage the public to use the dedicated interactive tool.

We all know how difficult it can be to figure out whether an e-mail or SMS is genuine. With this tool, our goal is to help everyone better understand, react and protect themselves. By bringing information from trusted sources together in one interactive space, we make it easier to access practical advice tailored to each situation. Through our awareness campaign, we hope to empower even more people to navigate the Internet with confidence. Because digital security shouldn't be a privilege - it should be a given for everyone
