The Jupiler Pro League returns to Proximus: agreement with DAZN for next season and the conclusion of the current season
Proximus is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with DAZN. From the start of next season, Proximus and Scarlet customers with a "Pickx Sports" or "All-in" subscription will once again have access to the DAZN channels and the DAZN app, offering live coverage of all matches in the Jupiler Pro League. In addition, as from this weekend, Proximus is already making a selection of Champions' Play-offs matches available to all its Pickx customers.
The new Jupiler Pro League season will be available from 7 August, the start date of the Belgian competition, together with DAZN's international premium content. DAZN's offering will be broadcast via four linear channels: two channels dedicated to Belgian football and two channels featuring international competitions, in both Dutch and French. Content that is not available on the linear channels can be accessed by Pickx Sports customers via the DAZN app, which will be integrated into the Pickx Sports package over the course of the upcoming season.
Moreover, in order to meet supporters' expectations, Proximus will offer a selection of two matches per matchday from the currently ongoing Champions' Play-offs to all Pickx customers, at no additional cost.
The broadcasting rights for the Jupiler Pro League have been the subject of intensive negotiations with the rights holder throughout the season. During these discussions, Proximus adopted a constructive approach to reach a sustainable agreement and ensure that Belgian football remains widely and easily accessible to all sports fans, including those who are less familiar with new technologies and simply wish to follow their favourite team at home via linear television channels. Proximus is pleased that an agreement has been reached.
With the return of DAZN content to Pickx Sports, Proximus will adapt its sports offering over the coming months. Until the launch of the updated offering, the current reduced prices of EUR 14.99 per month for the Pickx Sports option and EUR 38.99 per month for the "All-in" option will be maintained.
