The CO2-Neutral label 

Proximus is recognized as a CO2 neutral company since 2016.

What does it mean?

CO2logic and independent third party Vinçotte developed the “CO2-Neutral” label, based on the internationally recognized PAS2060 standard. Since 2007, this label has been guaranteeing that labelled organizations are actively calculating, reducing and compensating for their local and global climate impact.


In 2019, Proximus was included in the A-list in the Climate Change category and is listed as "CDP Supplier Engagement Leader".

What does it mean? 

The CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) is an international non-profit organization that aims to encourage businesses and governments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption and to protect forests. Each year CDP evaluates more than 5,000 companies for their efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption. The assessment focuses on company targets, governance put in place, capacity to assess the risks linked to climate change and to develop sustainable products and services.


Proximus commits to reduce 30% of its direct greenhouse gas emissions (for the period 2015-2025) and 50% of its indirect emissions (for the period 2014-2040). These commitments are approved by the Science Based Targets initiative.

What does it mean?

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBT) ensures that the targets of the undertakings are in line with the objective of the Paris Agreements (max. +2°C). Only 817 companies around the world can claim such a recognition.


In June 2020, for the fourth time in a row, Proximus received a Gold label from EcoVadis.

What does it mean?

EcoVadis allows companies to assess their environmental and social performance as well as those of their suppliers through a questionnaire on the environment, labor practices, fair business practices and sustainable procurement which results in a company's overall rating. EcoVadis is the world leader providing ratings on business sustainability.


The RE100 initiative recognized that Proximus has already met its goal of sourcing 100% of its electricity from renewable energy.

What does it mean?

The RE100 global initiative brings together influential businesses for a common goal: "100% renewable electricity". Proximus joined the RE100 initiative to support its CO2 reduction strategy.
