Proximus receives gold medal from EcoVadis for its sustainability efforts

For the 4th time in a row, Proximus has received a gold medal from EcoVadis for its efforts and activities in the field of sustainable development/sustainability. What's more, our current scores place us in the top 5% of companies evaluated by Ecovadis.

International recognition

Sustainability has been an important part of our business strategy for many years. This has ensured that Proximus is internationally regarded as a 'best practice' company for its own sustainability efforts but also for the strict social, ethical and environmental standards that we impose on our suppliers.

The EcoVadis platform is an international collaboration platform that allows business partners to share information about their CSR performance (CSR = Corporate Social Responsibility). It is used by more than 65,000 companies in more than 200 industries and 160 countries.

EcoVadis evaluates its member companies on 21 CSR criteria divided into 4 themes: environment, social and human rights, ethics and responsible purchasing. The evaluations follow international standards and are supervised by a scientific committee.

Win-win

As a company we are very proud of the very good evaluation scores we achieved. It is another confirmation of the extensive efforts we make. We want to continue these efforts and that is why sustainable entrepreneurship is explicitly included in the ambitions of our #Inspire2022 strategy.

This recognition is a win-win situation. It positions Proximus internationally as a company that sets great store by CSR, allowing other companies with the same objectives to choose us and work with us in complete confidence, and it allows us to be selective and to set the same high standards for our suppliers. Which we do, by the way, because today all our contracts include a CSR clause relating to social, ethical and environmental standards.

Internally, we use the results achieved to identify where we can further improve our sustainability efforts to contribute even better to an inclusive, secure, sustainable and prosperous digital Belgium.
