Data traffic and digital services are growing, mainly driven by the use of videos, cloud apps and the Internet of Things. To prepare its infrastructure for the customers’ future needs Proximus has decided to accelerate its existing fiber investment plan. The ambition is to connect 2.4M houses to fiber, with speeds up to 1 GIGA per second, by 2026.

There's fiber and there's Proximus' fiber
In one type of set-up, the fiber cable stops in the street and is then connected to a copper line or coax cable. In Proximus’ set up, the fiber cable is pulled through all the way into the home, offering a top-class performance.

Fiber roll-out
Today, the roll-out of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) is ongoing in 13 cities: Aalst, Antwerp-Diamant and Deurne, Brussels-Anspach, Charleroi, Ghent, Hasselt, Knokke-Heist, Kortrijk, Leuven, Liège, Namur, Roeselare and Vilvoorde.
