Cécile Coune is a non-executive director, currently serving on the board of several organizations in addition to Proximus: QBE Europe, Securex, and Credendo GSR. She also acts as a member of various risk, audit, and remuneration committees of these companies. Since 2025, she chairs the board of directors of Square Trade Europe Insurance.

She previously held various CEO roles in the insurance and reinsurance industry, and was a partner at a prominent Belgian law firm. .

Committed to corporate social responsibility, Cécile Coune is a founding member of Women on Board (WoB). She also initiated and chaired European Women on Boards (EWoB) until 2017. She regularly coaches or mentors young professionals in need for support. She recently became the charity chair of the Belgian Federation of Philanthropic Foundations.

Believing in continuous education, she is certified in sustainable finance (CISL) and followed the Chapter Zero program for directors. She is trained in mediation and in compliance in the financial sector, and she currently follows an AI training.
