Since September 2025, Francis De Meyere has been Chief of Staff for General Policy to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Pensions. He is also Government Commissioner at Fluxys Belgium and Fluxys LNG, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Be-NUC. In addition, he serves as an independent director at VITO.

He began his career as a Business Analyst at Accenture in Spain, after which he became an advisor at CREG, the regulator for electricity and gas. In 2014, he first became an advisor on energy and climate, post & telecom, and science policy at the office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Security and Home Affairs. He later served as advisor and Deputy Chief of Staff for General Policy to the Minister-President of the Flemish Government.

In 2021, Francis De Meyere became head of the research department at Agoria, and in 2025 he became advisor for energy, climate, post, telecom, and mobility at the office of the Prime Minister. He previously held mandates at Belgoprocess, NIRAS, and the FANC.

Francis De Meyere holds a degree in Business Engineering from KU Leuven and a Master in EU Studies from the University of Salamanca. He also followed the European Energy and Environmental Law program in the Master of Laws at KU Leuven.
